About the role
The Federal Bridge Corporation Limited (FBCL) is a Crown corporation responsible for overseeing the Canadian federal interests in four international bridge crossings between Canada and the United States. Its mandate is to provide the highest level of stewardship so that the international bridges and associated structures are safe and efficient for users. FBCL owns, manages and operates international bridges and associated structures in Sault Ste. Marie, Point Edward, Lansdowne (Thousand Islands) and Cornwall, Ontario.
Position Summary:
Custodians at FBCL adhere to strict safety standards while maintaining cleanliness ofbuildings for the pleasure of the occupants and travelers. They are responsible to ensure that all tasks are carried out with the health and safety of self and others being the primary focus including proper use of personal protective equipment and cleaning chemicals.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent plus a minimum of 1 year Custodial experience;
- Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time;
- Ability to climb, lift up to 50lbs, balance, stoop, bend and perform repetitive duties;
- Ability to lift and carry supplies, equipment and garbage;
- Time management skills and customer service skills;
- Ability to work well in a team environment and work independently;
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate;
- Possession of a valid G license;
- Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability security clearance required; and,
- Ability to demonstrate and maintain English speaking, reading and writing language requirement.
