About The Role The Byproduct Driver, part of our Property Management team, is responsible for the delivery/transportation of byproducts, waste, and recycling as needed, moving from our plant facility to off-site locations.
This is a new position in the company.

What You Will Be Doing

Responsible for delivering animal byproduct (inedible chicken parts) to disposal facility per schedules set by Maple Lodge Farms.

Assists the Maple Lodge Farms Nutrient team with loading outside takers of poultry fat.

Responsible for moving trailers of distressed/waster chicken products to Nutrient plant for disposal and assisting with loading/unloading of skids/totes as required
-
Responsible for completing pre-trip/post-trip inspection of vehicle, along with all required paperwork, including daily vehicle inspection sheet, logbook, and disposal manifests.

Completes preventative maintenance on byproduct equipment such as changing out hydraulic fittings, greasing equipment, etc., as well as reporting any maintenance that is required to trucks or trailers to the Byproduct Lead Hand.

Supports the Property Maintenance team by assisting with maintenance of Maple Lodge Farms buildings, yards, and properties, including but not limited to:

Repairing
-
Pothole Repair
-
Resurfacing Yard and Parking Lots (Grading)

Replacing
-
Plowing Snow Clearing
-
Salting
-
Dust control watering of Yard
-
Picking up garbage
-
Spraying or cutting down weeds in the yard
What You Will Bring
- Ontario Class AZ Driver’s License.
- Driver’s Abstract (clean driving history).
- Two to three years’ experience required; preferable with previous experience working with tractor wet lines (hydraulics), dump trailers and roll-offs.
- Strong understanding of Ministry of Environment regulations related to animal byproduct transportation and disposal.
- Working knowledge of food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.
- Working knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), WHMIS, Loss Control, etc.
- Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities.
- High School Diploma required.
