Our New Junior Industrial Engineer:
The ideal candidate would be someone who can:
- Play a key role in analyzing, designing, and optimizing manufacturing processes across the facility
- Highly hands-on role with strong on-floor presence
- Collaborate closely with production staff
- Implement practical improvements directly on the floor
- Possess a solid foundation in industrial engineering
- Enjoy being deeply involved in day-to-day operations
- Comfortable working with machinery
- Driven to improve efficiency and reduce waste
- Support safe and effective workflows
What you will do in the role:
- Evaluate current manufacturing processes and lead initiatives to improve productivity, reduce waste, and streamline operations.
- Conduct time studies, process flow analysis, and workstation optimization activities.
- Design and implement new manufacturing processes, work cells, and layouts in collaboration with production and engineering teams.
- Support new product integration into production, including fixture and tooling recommendations.
- Collaborate with the Manufacturing Engineering Specialist and Operations teams to troubleshoot machinery, plan maintenance activities, improve equipment reliability, and minimize process bottlenecks.
- Lead Kaizen and continuous improvement events targeting key process areas.
- Develop and maintain standard work instructions and production documentation.
- Monitor and report on operational KPIs, identifying areas for cost reduction or throughput improvements.
- Participate in Health & Safety improvement efforts, including ergonomic assessments and workplace inspections.
- Support Quality and Production teams in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Work cross-functionally with departments such as Scheduling, SCM, R&D, and Quality to ensure aligned execution of improvement projects.
- Train operators and team leads on new procedures or changes to workflow.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Able to lift up to 25lbs; may work in hot areas 5%, noise 5%.
- Ensure adherence to Health and Safety procedures and active participation in 5S and housekeeping programs.
What you bring to the role:
- Degree in Industrial Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 1–2 years of experience in industrial, process, or manufacturing engineering roles
- Experience with lean manufacturing tools and methodologies (5S, Value Stream Mapping, line balancing, etc.)
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience working directly in a production environment
- Exposure to manufacturing processes such as CNC machining, assembly, fabrication, or material handling an asset
- Green or Black Belt Certification in Six Sigma an asset
- Understanding of production metrics, time studies, and process mapping
- Familiarity with Health & Safety, ergonomics, and ISO 9001 quality systems
- Proficient in Excel, with working knowledge of CAD, ERP systems, and data analysis tools
- Strong project management, communication, and collaboration skills
- Clear Background Checks - Criminal
This position is located at 6635 Ordan Drive in Mississauga, ON. Hours are typically 8:00am to 4:30pm.
This is a Full-time, Salary position.
