Product Specialist Intern

Reporting to the Product Team Lead, the Product Specialist Intern will work cross functionally with the Technology, Operations and Product teams to build experiences, deliver real solutions and support with improving Interac’s Foundational practice.
You’llbe responsible for:

Developing proof-of-concept solutions for the Technology and Operations team

Conducting analysis of the existing API and Identity platforms provide suggestions to improve processes
-
Building out technical documentation for the Technology and Product Team
-
Working with the agile team to support the delivery of enhancements to Interac’s technology & platforms
-
Supporting various solution initiatives with a dedicated agile team
You bring:
-
You are currently enrolled in a university or college program in a relevant discipline, like computer science or information technology/systems, software/computer engineering, business management or similar related field
-
You can confidently understand technical concepts and enjoy tackling challenging problems by utilizing your creative thinking skills
-
Familiarity with API Management, Gateways and Identity Management concepts
-
Comfortable with learning and working effectively either independently or with groups across different functions and levels.
-
Confidence in your ability to communicate verbally and written in a detailed and impactful way you have some experience with technical writing
-
You are a proactive problem-solver with a demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiative
-
An aspiration to work in software development after graduation
-
The natural ability to pick up new technology – you enjoy learning about new tools and how they work
-
Understanding that success is in the details – you tend to notice things that others don't
-
Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:

Technical concept and follow through them
-
Lead solution design sessions
-
Understanding of Atlassian, Confluence & Jira
-
Previous working or co-op experience working as a software developer, engineer or technical coordinator in a relevant field is an asset
Workstyle: Hybrid (3 days on-site)
Location: Toronto
Term: January – April 2026
Duration: Monday – Friday
