THE POSITION:
Under the general direction of the Director of Infrastructure & Resources, the Shipping & Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the planning and organization of the delivery of library materials system-wide. This position is also responsible for financial reporting, coordination of equipment and equipment maintenance, and supervisory and administrative duties.
HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN BRING:

Demonstrated ability to effectively administer day-to-day operations including workflow management, development of procedures and supervision of staff.

Knowledge of applicable safety and vehicular legislation, including the Motor Vehicle Act, National Safety Code, Workers Compensation Act, Highway Traffic Act and other related acts and regulations.

Demonstrated ability to safely operate library vehicles and to organize the handling and delivery of materials.

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, external service providers and the public in a courteous and tactful manner.

Demonstrated ability to prepare and maintain reports, correspondence, statistics, procedure manuals and records.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including spreadsheets.

Ability to carry out job functions with flexibility, creativity and initiative.

Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
-
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Demonstrated proficiency in using a variety of job-related digital devices.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
-
Completion of Grade 12 with successful completion of Principles of Accounting 1, Business Math and Business Communication courses.

Introductory supervisory training from a recognized institution, or equivalent.
-
Completion of a National Safety Code compliance course.
-
Combination of two years’ work and on the job experience, including one year in a supervisory position.

Possession of valid B.C. Driver's License (Class 5) with Air Brakes Certification, and maintenance of a good driving record. Driver’s Abstract from ICBC to be provided on an annual basis.

Criminal Record Check is required.
