Hourly Wage Rate
$22.58/hour

Anticipated Normal Work Schedule

Monday, Tuesday, & Friday: 6:00pm – 11:30pm
Saturday & Sunday: 3:00pm – 8:30pm

NOTE: This schedule is subject to change. Incumbent may be required to work weekends and evening hours.

Job Description Summary

  • As a Hospitality Associate you will be representing McMaster University Hospitality Services.
  • Must adhere to Hospitality Policies and procedures.
  • Specialize in preparation & production of ingredients required for Bistro Kitchen.
  • Communicate with customers and co-workers effectively, greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Maintain sanitation, health and safety standards in work area, including scheduled equipment and unit cleaning.
  • Ensure all product is stored, retrieved and stock is properly rotated (FIFO).
  • Perform all duties of any job classification equivalent or lower filling in wherever needed to assist in our excellent customer service requirement.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a consistent basis.
  • Ability to work well as a team member and independently.
  • Organize and coordinate work in a timely manner with little supervision.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Multi-task with efficiency and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

Education & Experience

  • Professional knife handling & usage a must (knife test may be required).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in food service industry.
  • Must have good communication, reading, writing and English skills.
