Kleysen is seeking to hire a full-time permanent Health & Safety Coordinator to our Health & Safety team. This position reports to the Director of Safety, Health & Driver Services and will work closely with the safety and operations teams in all locations (Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Esterhazy, Edmonton, Calgary).

The shift for this role is Monday – Friday from 8:00 am – 5:00 pm in the office*.* The Health and Safety Coordinator may at times be required to work outside of regular hours (incident responses, inclement weather, travel etc.)

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the transportation industry with a solution orientated and hands-on approach in working alongside the Operations teams to:

• Work in conjunction with the Safety Supervisor in Winnipeg, collaborating with key stakeholders and field-level employees to develop and implement effective safe workplace procedures, best practices, and build a more impactful safety environment within Kleysen
• Research and support the development of job hazard analysis, standard operating procedures, safety policies, training programs and the delivery of training
• Conduct & oversee safety inspections, audits, competency assessments, ergonomic assessments etc. as needed
• Lead and respond to incidents and conduct investigations to determine root cause
• Support disability & return to work programs
• Identify opportunities to support & enhance a Safety 1st culture
• Support and facilitate HR initiatives such as recruitment, and onboarding for yard, drivers, and other staff.
• Conduct New Hire Safety Orientations

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in health, safety, and environmental management and/or 1-2 years minimum H&S experience, in a similar environment
• Candidates must have demonstrated administrative skills and proficient Microsoft office in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Candidates must have the ability to develop proficiency with operational programs. I.e. SAMSARA, DATS, ISAAC, etc.
• Proven experience developing health and safety programs, procedures, training programs, internal audits, and inspections.
• Working knowledge of Federal Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Confident communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel to Saskatchewan locations periodically.
