Weed Control - Environmental Technician
Job Summary
The Weed Control - Environmental Technician, reporting to the Divisional Superintendent, is responsible for controlling undesirable vegetation on and in the District’s waterways, right-of-ways, and grounds. This position involves maintaining application equipment, managing records, ensuring safety compliance, and performing general construction and maintenance tasks during the winter season.
The individual must have a broad set of qualifications and skills, including, but not limited to:
- Ability to obtain and maintain Aquatic and Industrial Applicators Licenses.
- Knowledge of safe chemical handling and vegetation control methods.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrated attention to detail.
- Self-motivated with the ability and willingness to work independently as well as productively and cooperatively in a team environment.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license.
This is a safety-sensitive position and, as such, candidates must complete pre-employment drug and alcohol screening, provide a current driver’s abstract, and a criminal record check.
