Job Description
We are seeking a Cloud Platform Systems Engineer C12 to join our global Cloud Infrastructure and development team supporting mission-critical Enterprise Risk Technology. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in containerization, service mesh, cloud platforms, automation, observability, and SRE practices and a proven ability to stabilize, scale, and secure business-critical platforms through automation and effective incident, change, and release management.
Responsibilities
Deploy, manage, and scale applications using Kubernetes and OpenShift. Implement and manage service mesh with Istio for ingress and egress traffic control. Apply security practices including SSO, SAML, MFA, SSG, COIN authentication, TLS/SSL, and AD/LDAP authorization. Administer WebSphere Application Server including JNDI, connection pools, JMS, and heap/session management. Support big data platforms and pipelines using Spark, Hive, and Starburst. Support cloud migration and operations on AWS or IBM Cloud. Lead incident and problem management, communication, post-mortems, and root cause analysis. Provide technical and business support, resolve user issues, and drive stability and efficiency improvements. Execute change and release management, infrastructure maintenance, and continuity of business tests. Maintain observability and monitoring, enhance proactive alerting, and enable predictive fault detection. Develop automation scripts, tools, and IaC to reduce toil and mitigate risk. Collaborate with development teams to improve architecture, performance, and recoverability.
Required Skills & Qualifications
5+ years in infrastructure roles supporting enterprise, business-critical applications. Cloud migration and operations on AWS or IBM Cloud. Kubernetes and OpenShift deployment, management, and scaling. Service mesh architecture with hands-on Istio experience. Security expertise: SSO, SAML, MFA, SSG, COIN, TLS/SSL, AD/LDAP. WebSphere administration including JNDI, connection pools, JMS, and memory management. Big data support with Spark, Hive, and Starburst. Advanced Unix/Linux with shell and Python scripting. Enterprise monitoring tools such as ITRS Geneos and AppDynamics, and log platforms such as Splunk or ELK. Database experience across Oracle, MSSQL, and MongoDB. Messaging solutions such as Tibco EMS, IBM MQ, or Kafka. Understanding of distributed application architecture, networks, load balancers, storage, and AD/LDAP. REST API troubleshooting experience. Strong written and verbal communication for varied audiences.
Preferred Skills
Programming for automation in Python or Java. Observability with Prometheus and Grafana. Familiarity with prompt engineering for Generative AI and LLMs.
