About the role

Your Team Responsibilities

The Business Technology team at MSCI is playing a vital role in a fast-paced transformation of our digital marketing practice.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Front-End Developer with deep expertise in React to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will lead the development of high-performance, scalable, and user-friendly web applications. You will collaborate with product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend engineers to deliver compelling and intuitive user experiences. The ideal candidate is passionate about clean code, modern front-end technologies, and performance optimization.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain complex, large-scale web applications using React and Next.js 14/15.
  • Collaborate with product managers and designers to translate business requirements and UI/UX designs into responsive, interactive web applications.
  • Lead architectural decisions for front-end projects and help define front-end best practices and coding standards.
  • Architect and implement advanced state management solutions, optimize data fetching, caching, and state synchronization
  • Build stunning and responsive UIs using Tailwind.
  • Write clean, well-documented, and human-readable code that is easy to maintain and understand.
  • Ensure high code quality and performance, with a strong focus on rigorous testing and optimization.
  • Work closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow between the client and server.
  • Play a key role in the release process, from code review to deployment.
  • Contribute to a monorepo environment, ensuring consistency and best practices across multiple projects.
  • Actively communicate with business stakeholders and team members across various time zones in Europe and Asia.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in front-end development.

Your Skills And Experience That Will Help You Excel

  • 7+ years of professional front-end development experience
  • Proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern styling techniques.
  • In-depth knowledge of JavaScript bundlers, including the ability to troubleshoot and optimize build configurations.
  • Advanced proficiency in React with deep knowledge of hooks, context, and the component lifecycle.
  • Strong understanding of APIs (REST, GraphQL), asynchronous programming, and state management patterns. Experience with TanStack Query or similar libraries for efficient and performant data handling.
  • Mastery of Tailwind CSS for rapid and consistent UI development.
  • Demonstrable experience with Next.js 14 or 15 or a similar server-side rendering framework.
  • Extensive experience working with large codebases, ideally in a monorepo setup.
  • A strong commitment to code quality, readability, and performance. Familiarity with testing frameworks (such as Jest, React Testing Library, or Cypress), knowledge of performance optimization techniques and tools (e.g., Lighthouse, Chrome DevTools)
  • Advanced level Git expertise, including complex branching strategies, rebasing, and resolving merge conflicts in a large team setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse, remote team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
