Purpose

The Clinical Administrator is the first point of contact with patients at the clinic. They are responsible for checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, answering phones and other administrative duties. Excellent customer service is a must!

Location: Belleville, must be willing to travel to satellite clinic locations (Ajax, Port Hope, Cornwall, and Smith Falls) No. of Positions: 1 ATR: #5135 Salary: $21- $23/hour Type: Full-Time

Job Responsibilities

Checking in and checking out patients Answering phones and taking messages Scheduling appointments according to guidelines Able to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality Obtaining and confirming patient information for healthcare billing Operating common business equipment including but not limited to copiers, computers, and fax machines Maintaining an organized work environment in a fast-paced environment Consenting patients for medical procedures Patient phone call reminders Accurately performing basic patient screening tests Ability to travel to various satellite clinics Accurately preparing patient charts for appointment visits Accurately ordering medications for patient appointment Effectively communicating with pharmacy technicians regarding coverage eligibility Cancelling unused medications, reconciling consignment counts accurately Accurately collecting and recording daily data Effectively communicating with other doctors’ offices regarding mutual patients Light cleaning duties of workspace and clinic area

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 1 year of experience with administrative procedures and office duties. Medical office experience and terminology an asset.

Proficient with Microsoft Office – including Excel, Word and Outlook

Skills

Good communication skills – both verbally and in writing Candidates must demonstrate organizational skills, attention to details, independence, sound judgment, time management skills, multi-task and initiative.
