Undergraduate Research Assistant, Marketing
The Canadian Centre for Rural and Agricultural Health (CCRAH) is a multidisciplinary research centre dedicated to improving the health, safety, and well-being of people living and working in rural, remote, and agricultural communities across Canada. Through research, outreach, and community engagement, CCRAH plays a national role in advancing evidence-based solutions for rural and agricultural health and safety challenges.
Position Summary
CCRAH is seeking a motivated and creative Summer Marketing Student to support the Centre’s communications and marketing activities.
Reporting to CCRAH’s Director, Dr. Shelley Kirychuk, the successful candidate will support the communications team and gain hands-on experience in research communications, digital marketing, and knowledge translation while contributing to meaningful work that supports rural and agricultural communities. Among other tasks, the candidate will:
- Assist with the development of communications and knowledge translation resources
- Create and editing content for CCRAH’s website, newsletters, and social media channels
- Support promotion of research projects, events, and knowledge products
- Develop visual and written materials such as posters, infographics, presentations, and fact sheets
- Support branding and consistency across all communications materials
- Provide general communications and administrative support as needed
- Help organize upcoming events at CCRAH: the Safety and Health in Agricultural and Rural Populations (SHARP) 2026 symposium and the launch of CCRAH’s new mobile clinic.
Qualifications
Required:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, Public Relations, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with or interest in social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, X, Facebook)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Assets:
- Experience with content creation tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
- Familiarity with website content management systems (ex. Cascade)
- Interest in public health, research, agriculture, and rural communities
