Part-Time Behaviour- ABA Therapist (AJAX)
About the role
Overview We are seeking a passionate, dedicated ABA Therapist to join our team on a part-time basis ( 15-25 hours per week with room to grow). The ideal candidate will have 2 to 5 years of experience and a proven record of working collaboratively within a team setting. This role involves implementing applied behavior analysis programs for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (or other developmental disabilities), primarily in-person and in-home.
Responsibilities
Conduct behavior assessments to understand individual needs, strengths, and challenges
- Develop and implement personalized treatment plans focused on improving communication, social skills, and adaptive behaviors
- Provide one-on-one therapy sessions using ABA techniques
- Monitor client progress through daily data collection and analysis
- Collaborate with other professionals, including psychologists, speech therapists, and educators, to ensure comprehensive care
- Educate and support families, offering guidance on implementing strategies at home
- Implement strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive behavior change
- Maintain open communication with families and supervisors, providing timely updates on client progress
- Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in ABA
- Adhere to ethical guidelines to ensure client welfare Qualifications
Proven expertise with Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field Minimum of 1 years of experience working with children/youth on the Autism Spectrum Proven experience in conducting behavioral assessments, developing interventions, and analyzing data Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with initiative and self-motivation Valid Ontario Driver’s License, access to a reliable vehicle, and own insurance Clear criminal background check with vulnerable sector screening A passion for working in the field of ABA
