Come work as Psychiatrist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH)!
Richmond Hospital Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a psychiatrist to join. Position to start immediately.
- Richmond Adult Mental Health Team, based in the community, provides longer‑term management of serious and persistent mental health conditions requiring an interdisciplinary treatment team. Referrals come from Family Physicians, the Emergency Department, and the In‑Patient Unit.
- Richmond Hospital Psychiatric Assessment Unit (PAU)/ED In‑Patient Service provides services to admitted in‑patients in hospital. The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients admitted in medical and surgical wards, consult in the Emergency Department, and liaise with the primary care team for integrated patient care.
- Richmond Mental Health Out‑ the‑Patient Services (OPD) offers consultation and short‑term management of moderate‑severity mental health conditions. The role includes developing individual and group psychotherapy, running groups, and supervising psychiatry residents for psychotherapy competencies.
- Richmond Hospital is a fully accredited, 228‑bed acute‑care facility serving a local population of 200,000 (plus an additional catchment of ~120,000). The hospital is expanding with a new acute‑care tower.
Qualifications
Education, Licensing, & Experience:
- Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) – Provisional
- Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) – Mandatory
- Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC) – Eligible
