Job Description Are you looking for a role where you will truly make a difference and contribute to a growing industry in Canada? ECO Canada is looking for a performance-driven individual to join the team immediately. Reporting to the Vice President of Professional Services, the successful candidate will be passionate about environmental initiatives and will support the Post-secondary Accreditation Program, guiding participating institutions from initial inquiry through to accreditation renewal.

As a key member of the Professional Services team, the Accreditation Coordinator will be responsible for administering accredited programs and ensuring high-quality delivery of the program. Some activities will be geared toward acquiring new programs for accreditation. This position requires some travel within Canada for student presentations and meetings to support the accreditation program and other programs and services that ECO Canada offers.

While each member of ECO Canada has individual responsibilities, ECO takes a team-based approach. Everyone is encouraged to take ownership of their ideas and to see them through to completion, collaborating with key influencers as required.

Responsibilities

  • Day-to-day coordination and support for the accreditation program delivery including preparing and reviewing accreditation documents.
  • Working with the marketing team to create newsletters and student resource packages for accredited programs and to update the accreditation web page and marketing materials.
  • Exploring new markets for accreditation services and identifying potential programs for accreditation.
  • Taking a lead role in engaging with potential applicants and providing comprehensive support throughout the accreditation process.
  • Planning of accreditation site visits, including coordinating with site reviewers and academic program.
  • Planning and participating in meetings of the Canadian Environmental Accreditation Commission.
  • Preparing and reviewing annual reports for accredited partners.
  • Updating/maintaining tracking sheets and online dashboard.
  • Preparing and facilitating student presentations and meetings with post-secondary programs both online and in-person.
  • Traveling within Canada for student presentations, meetings, and conferences is required.
  • Working with other teams at ECO to integrate programs and streamline efforts.
  • Helping with the Training Course Certification and International Accreditation programs.
  • Supporting the Associate Registrar and Professional Services Team with ongoing projects, new project development, proposal writing, and execution of other ongoing activities.

Qualifications

  • Exceptional organizational and planning skills as well as high attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to connect with post-secondary programs and people working in all areas of the environmental sector.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Motivated self-starter with a desire to learn and a willingness to adapt to a variety of situations.
  • Proficient computer skills and experience with MS Office, particularly with Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in giving presentations both in person as well as online (Zoom or MS Teams).
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license to facilitate travel for site visits, presentations, and meetings across Canada.

Education And Experience

  • Undergraduate degree or Project Management Diploma.
  • Experience working with post-secondary institutions is considered an asset.
  • Previous knowledge, or desire to learn about Canada’s environmental workforce.

This role is a permanent full-time position.

This role is based at ECO Canada’s Calgary head office (unless otherwise noted). After a 3-month probation period, eligible employees may transition to a hybrid schedule with at least 3 days per week in the office.
