Job Overview
The Retail Inventory Lead receives store inventory and maintains product organization to company standards and acts as a knowledge resource for team members.
All Retail Inventory Leads are expected to be stewards of compliance and leading by example, providing guidance, and reinforcing company standards. The Retail Inventory Leader is also responsible for escalating all employee issues and customer complaints/inquiries to store managers for resolution.
Core Competencies and Requirements
- Strong knowledge of retail inventory management
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Ability to guide, educate and motivate employees.
- Strong customer service and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills (verbal & written).
- Familiarity with security alarm systems – enabling and disabling.
- Ability to learn and adapt to sales software quickly.
- Proven data entry, data editing and typing skills.
- Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills.
- Able to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Experience with cash management.
Job Duties
- Receive new inventory and accurately input information into receiving document
- Prepare shipping documents (packing lists, waybills, packing) and organize PO for delivery
- Complete manual tasks to support inbound and outbound operations
- Support with accurate inventory management to ensure customers receive their ordered
products in a quick and accurate manner
- Lead & maintain an organized inventory room
- Dispose of empty boxes / garbage from inventory receiving
- Support with tasks and duties within the physical store, as assigned.
- Ensure you are aware of all company communications, rollouts, directives and procedures
- Abide by all company policies and programs, ensuring compliance
- Adhere to all legislative requirements of cannabis retailers, including federal, provincial and
municipal legislation
- Complete all tasks as assigned by the Store Manager
- Escalate team member issues to direct manager.
- Performing tasks according to safety standards; identifying workplace hazards (immediately eliminate, if not, report it to the warehouse manager)
- Ensure you are aware of all required product knowledge content as determined by leadership

Education, Training & Experience
- 2 years of experience in the retail industry.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in all aspects of inventory management and receiving.
- Clear criminal record.
- Provincial Cannabis Certification.
Working Conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- Overtime as required.
