What You’ll Be Doing
The mandate of Procurement is to provide strategic sourcing and contracting services utilizing disciplined governance to enable CIBC to effectively execute against its business priorities. Procurement is responsible for executing contracts for the supply of products and services used by CIBC in the United States, ensuring an optimal balance of price, risk, quality, and organizational impact. The Procurement team also provides support for CIBC vendor management programs and CIBC’s purchasing and procurement applications.

As a Senior Procurement Manager, you will oversee and lead end-to-end sourcing opportunities to drive cost savings, process efficiencies, and risk mitigation. You will provide strategic leadership in contract negotiation, drafting, and administration, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements. In this role within the US Procurement Team, you will focus on a broad range of spend categories, executing and implementing sourcing initiatives while guiding and mentoring team members.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Strategic Relationship Management– Build and maintain strong partnerships with CIBC business leaders and cross-functional teams, providing high-quality support and guidance throughout the sourcing and contracting process. Act as a key liaison with internal stakeholders and suppliers, managing complex portfolios and fostering collaboration to achieve business goals.
  • Executive Communication –Regularly engage with senior management and executive stakeholders to address sourcing and contracting needs, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities. Lead communications with suppliers to develop and implement sourcing strategies, and drive negotiations to successful contract execution.
  • Negotiation Leadership– Develop and execute sophisticated negotiation strategies, demonstrating leadership in aligning business objectives with supplier agreements.Oversee contract negotiations, drafting, and administration, ensuring robust risk management and legal compliance.
  • Governance and Administration - Ensure business stakeholders and procurement partners have access to accurate, timely information to support informed decision-making. Champion best practices in sourcing governance, contract management, and procurement operation.
