Medicine Hat College’s School of Health and Community Services welcomes applications for a Part-Time, Sessional Lab Assistant/ Simulation Technologist position for our Brooks Campus. Travel to the Medicine Hat Campus may be required at times.
A little about the role:
Reporting to the Dean, Health and Community Services, the Lab Assistant III/Simulation Technologists will provide academic support in the operation of applied learning and simulation-related technologies across the school, with a focus in the practical nursing and health care aide programs at the Brooks Campus. The position is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting simulation and applied learning equipment such as patient simulators (i.e. Connectivity issues, software and mechanical updates), mannequins, audiovisual systems/digital media, and associated equipment within the programs lab/simulation spaces. This position is also responsible for the preparation, setup, take down, maintenance and utilization of learning aides, equipment and preparing for labs.
Details:
As a successful applicant you'll have:
- Diploma in Health Care field, computer science, information technology or related field OR equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
- More than 2 years’ experience in health care field. Experience with simulation and IT equipment considered an asset.
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
- Willingness and comfort working in a dynamic team-oriented setting and working with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to move simulation and lab equipment.
Terms of Employment
Term of Employment: As soon as possible – June 13, 2025
Hours of Work: 20 hours per week Monday to Friday (usually)
August – June annually
Wage Rate: $26.16 per hour (Start Rate); $29.35 per hour (Job Rate)
