Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Data Consultant – Data Lineage/Risk. In this position, you will support large-scale data management standards implementation within a leading financial organization, focusing on assessing risk and compliance (US/CAN). You will analyze, document, and communicate data lineage processes across complex datasets, engaging with diverse stakeholders to ensure standards are met, all within a remote work environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct data lineage analysis and produce comprehensive documentation for risk reporting datasets.
- Collaborate with report owners and stakeholders to prioritize key metrics and critical data elements.
- Perform data supply chain analysis to trace underlying data systems and transformations.
- Evaluate data controls, risk, and compliance requirements related to US and Canadian regulations.
- Work across technical and non-technical teams, including risk, compliance, and data governance professionals.
- Communicate findings effectively to senior stakeholders and report progress.
- Support the execution of enterprise data management standards and process improvements.
- Assist in the testing and validation of data control processes.
- Participate in Agile and Waterfall project environments, contributing to team deliverables.
Desired Skill-Set
- 8+ years of experience working with large datasets in financial or risk management environments.
- Strong expertise in data lineage analysis and documentation.
- Proficiency in SQL or similar end-user query tools.
- Excellent MS Office skills, especially Excel, Visio, and Access.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex data concepts clearly to senior management.
- Solid understanding of data controls, data governance, and risk reporting processes.
- Experience working in Agile or Waterfall project methodologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Alteryx or SAS.
- Knowledge of data controls and data governance frameworks.
- Data control testing experience.
- Familiarity with risk reporting within financial institutions.
- Exposure to enterprise data management standards and processes.
