The qualifications and experience we’re looking for:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree, preferably related to communications, marketing, education, or a related field is required.
- Recent graduation from the University of Manitoba is preferred.
- One year directly related experience is required.
- Experience in public relations, marketing preferred.
- Experience working in a customer service environment is required.
- Experience working with students in the post-secondary or high-school system preferred.
- Experience as a student or staff member or the University of Manitoba preferred.
- Previous experience in student recruitment positions preferred.
- An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well with others in cooperative ventures required.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate in an articulate, knowledgeable, and diplomatic manner required.
- Intermediate skills in the current versions of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.
- Ability to relate to high school students in an effective manner is required.
- Must be a dynamic and charismatic public speaker with significant related experience and the ability to present an upbeat, positive and energetic attitude.
- Ability to learn quickly and retain new knowledge.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team is essential.
- A good understanding of the University of Manitoba degree programs, entrance requirements and selection procedures preferred.
- A valid driver's license and clean driving record as well as access to a vehicle is required.
- This job may require the incumbent to travel internationally for extended periods of time when it is safe to do so; a valid passport is required for this position.
- Must be physically capable of performing duties as assigned, including driving and standing for lengthy periods and lifting display units and boxes weighing up 10 to 15 kg.
- Satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.
**A current, completed and satisfactory Criminal Records Search, Child Abuse Registry Check and Driver's Abstract must be submitted on or before commencement of this position, and maintained as a condition of employment for this position. Additional details will be provided during the selection process.**
