Located in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, Multimatic Niche Vehicles North America (MNVNA) is the exclusive production facility of the Ford GT Supercar and the Ford Bronco DR Racing Truck.
Position Overview:
MNVNA is seeking a Robotic Paint Process Technician to help run the automated paint booth to assist in the production of the Ford Mustang GTD. Daily interaction with 2 x FANUC P-250iB pedestal robots each mounted on GUDEL Rails. The Technician will control a robot cell that will apply a low bake solvent based 2k sealer, color base coat and clear coat to a low volume / high quality bespoke super car.
Responsibilities include:
- Understand how paint robots, paint process equipment, and power & free conveyors work.
- Able to program a FANUC P-250iB/15 Robot with R-30iB Plus “A” size cabinet is preferred.
- Knowledge of using an Allen-Bradly Ethernet/Safety PLC
- Understanding of FANUC PAINTOOL is required.
- Ensure that paint processes are maintained and running effectively for vehicle production.
- Problem-solve (analyze data, determine root causes, develop implementation plans) and resolve issues which are affecting paint shop metrics and document appropriately.
- Provide technical support for specific robotic paint line operations.
- Understand and execute Process Control Plans, manufacturing processes, and management systems as they relate to production operations.
- Understand how to operate all processes in area of responsibility.
Skills and Abilities:
- Minimum 2 years of a Robotic Paint Shop experience at an Automotive Manufacturing Plant/or Tier 1 Supplier.
- Knowledge of automotive paint process areas (Sealer, Topcoat, Clear Coat and Paint Mix Room).
- Proven technical and professional skills in Manufacturing/Assembly Plant.
- Knowledge of tooling and continuous improvement and manufacturing processes.
