We’re looking for an experienced Technical Learning & Development leader to drive the full lifecycle of technical e-learning course and certification creation—from intake and scoping to design, development, launch, and measuring impact. You’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, and business teams to ensure our training programs equip customers, partners, and employees with the knowledge and skills they need to be successful.
This is both a strategic and operational leadership role: you will set the vision and roadmap for our technical training portfolio, while ensuring your team executes with quality, consistency, and speed.
This role will lead a global team of 10 technical e-learning content developers and instructional designers and reports directly to the Director of Community & Customer Marketing.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead & Grow a Global Team – Manage and develop a diverse team of instructional designers and technical content developers, fostering collaboration, creativity, and professional growth
- Own the Training Lifecycle – Oversee the full process of course and certification creation, from needs analysis to design, development, launch, and continuous improvement
- Shape the Learning Strategy – Define the dynamic roadmap for technical training programs aligned to the Boomi platform, customer needs, and industry trends
- Drive Content Excellence – Ensure training is accurate, current, and effective by establishing standards, processes, and review mechanisms
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally – Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success to align training priorities with business goals
- Measure Impact – Implement evaluation models, learner analytics, and feedback loops to continuously improve training effectiveness and demonstrate ROI
- Innovate & Scale – Incorporate modern learning practices, AI tools, and scalable delivery methods and tools
- Certification Program Management – Provide strategic leadership of Boomi’s global certification program, ensuring our 16 certifications continue to mature and hold strong industry credibility
The Experience You Bring:
- 10+ years of experience in Technical Training & Instructional design
- 2+ years of proven leadership experience managing a global team of learning professionals (instructional designers, e-learning developers, or technical trainers)
- Strong track record in end-to-end course creation and maintenance and learning program management, ideally for SaaS, developer tools, or enterprise software
- Deep knowledge of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, or agile approaches) and adult learning principles
- Experience collaborating with technical subject matter experts and translating complex topics into structured learning pathways
- Familiarity with LMS platforms, SCORM/xAPI, and e-learning authoring tools (Articulate, Camtasia, Vyond, Adobe Suite, etc.)
- Strong project management skills: able to prioritize, manage risk, and deliver multiple initiatives on time
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to influence across functions and at all levels
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Background in technical enablement, developer education, or product training.
- Exposure to integration, automation, or AI technologies (Boomi experience a strong plus).
- Experience with accessibility standards (ADA, WCAG) and inclusive learning design
- Track record of using analytics and learner data to improve content and demonstrate business value
- Experience driving the strategic evolution of an L&D function, not just managing execution
