The Senior Systems Support Analyst operates in a complex enterprise environment and plays a critical role in enabling release and change delivery for the Canadian Banking Line of Business. As part of a shared services team, this position focuses on core computing infrastructure and IT components, including multi-platform servers, enterprise applications, and host environments. The incumbent is responsible for championing Release and Change mandates through comprehensive pre-implementation analysis to ensure stability and compliance with enterprise standards. They also contribute to solutions that automate change delivery and streamline processes across test environments. This role requires close collaboration with application, engineering and infrastructure teams to provide input into solution design, operational processes, and best practices. This role works with cross- functional teams across various IT domains to maintain alignment with technology roadmaps and deliver robust, scalable solutions.
Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:
• Responsible for the integration of application systems and infrastructure
platforms for the Canadian Banking Engineering organization for test
environments.
• Responsible for identifying client issues, handling them effectively,
envision and architect suitable solutions in collaboration with delivery
teams, release and test environment management teams.
• Champion business and infrastructure deliverables through monitoring
cross-LOB changes to identify potential impacts, proactively resolving
conflicts, and ensuring that all relevant changes are communicated and
socialized effectively across stakeholders.
• Work with IT stakeholders to implement modern support tools for release
and test environment management in areas related to deployment, monitoring and
operations.
• Resolve business rule, information and application definition conflicts
involving shared and dedicated testing environments, applications and
resources.
• Provide input on development project planning for alignment of target
delivery dates with test environment management services.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department to develop
best practices, metrics and reporting on release performance and environment
health to drive performance.
• Innovate solutions to bring holistic release and change visibility into a
single view from cross-platform operating models.
• Design and implement solutions to evaluate change risk, risk budget and
risk tolerance, including risk mitigation models.
• Elevate visibility of change, change impact and change risk, to
strengthen decision-making capabilities.
• Provide reusable and where possible combined use systems to ensure
services are provided at least cost to implement with a supportable operations
model.
Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
• Experience with release management tools such as ServiceNow and Jira for
change and release tracking.
• Scripting & programming languages such as Python, PowerShell.
• Experience with PowerBI dashboard design and development.
• Broad understanding of multi-platform, virtualization and cloud
technologies.
• Strong knowledge of ITIL processes for Change, Release and Configuration
Management.
• Working experience with Agile & DevOps practices and philosophies.
• Skilled in risk and impact analysis for assessing release risks and
dependencies.
• Strong risk management and system reliability engineering acumen.
• Intimate knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written skills for stakeholder
engagement.
• Experience in working with multiple cross-functional teams.
• Strong problem solving, analytical mindset to troubleshoot complex
issues.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced
environment.
• Strong influencing skills to drive cross-functional outcomes.
• Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Engineering or technical
equivalence.
• 5+ years in Information Technology systems support roles within
enterprise environments.
• 3+ years in release management, test environment management, or
automation.
