Please reference Job Title Senior Consultant, Application Development What You’ll Be Doing The Senior Consultant, Application Development is responsible for leading the functional design and development of application systems across all technologies and platforms. The role provides consultation for senior management on a wide spectrum of existing and emerging infrastructure technologies, translating user requirements to process and data requirements and developing solutions for the business with far-reaching impact. The Senior Consultant, Application Development provides technical leadership to develop precise steps and processing logic across all platforms, ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs. In addition, the role provides comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams. The role makes technology selection decisions that are often made in situations where business requirements are not completely defined.

How You’ll Succeed

  • Strategic Development & Execution:
  • Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand the business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap.
  • Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces and integrations.
  • Lead the design of cost-effective and innovative solutions to meet both business objectives and the goal of operational efficiency.
  • Strategy and Roadmap:
  • Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives.
  • Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvements
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Act as the solution lead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions.
  • Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solving

Who You Are

  • You can demonstrate 8+ years’ experience in designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications
  • 5+ years supporting applications with expertise in most of the following: Customer Identity Access Management (CIAM), Integrations with RESTful and webservice, Security solutions like OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SSO, etc and a background in microservices or Service oriented Architecture.
  • Experience using GoLang & Java 8 + / J2EE developing enterprise grade solutions working on backend applications.
  • Advanced understanding of agile practices including: Code versioning, CI/CD, Automated quality practices.
  • Strong experience with testing platforms, unit testing, and end to end testing.
  • Must have prior experience as delivery lead for technology projects and leading a team of developers and working with internal stakeholders.
  • Comfortable doing code reviews as well as hands on coding
  • CISSP Certification

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Databases and Database integration (such as Mongo DB, My SQL, etc),
  • Experience with CIAM products (Transmit Security, Broadcom Layer 7 or Similar) , Cloud (Azure), and Tools (Tools: source control/issue management: Git, TFS, JIRA, Azure DevOps, Azure Databricks, Azure event handler), Experience in UI/ UX development (such as Angular, React, etc) is an asset.
