##Key responsibilities:
- Preparing instructional and testing materials relevant to the course being taught.
- Instructing/teaching/testing.
- Marking/grading of exams and assignments etc.
- Providing constructive feedback to students.
- Maintaining regular office hours.

##Qualifications:
- Master's degree, Ph.D. or Ph.D. candidate preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language is required.
- Background/specialization in subject area required.
- Demonstrated competence in post-secondary teaching required.
- Empathetic approach to the instructional needs and concerns of students is required.
- Previous teaching in the subject area or related area would be an asset.

We seek a practicing artist with a commitment to professional practice and an inspiring teaching style. MFA or equivalent degree required. Must have an ability to work collegially within a complex institutional setting, manage deadlines, and operate within the respectful workplace guidelines of the University of Manitoba. Must be able to supervise a diverse teaching environment and coordinate resources to deliver an above average student experience. Should have experience using digital technology in the classroom. Candidate should possess a skill set that includes basic theories, structuring systems, and mathematical methods and principles of Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries as they are used in works of art. Candidates should be able to address topics such as: linear perspective; shapes, patterns, balance and symmetry; ratio, proportion, and harmony; and order, dynamics, and chaos. Candidates should have the ability to supervise student assignments/project and development culminating in a presentation of work for critique and evaluation; the ability to provide ongoing technical and conceptual assistance with assignments; an inspiring teaching style and respect for diverse learning skills. Because the course is team-taught with the Department of Mathematics, candidates should be able to work collaboratively across disciplines. Applicants must submit: 1. A cover letter of application including a statement connecting your professional practice with your teaching. 2. A curriculum vitae that demonstrates current professional activities (exhibitions, publications, presentations, grants), including contact information for 3 references. 3. A maximum of 20 images of your work completed within 3 years, and/or time-based media, maximum 10 minutes running length, including titles and credits, with accompanying image reference list. 4. Copies of student-based teaching evaluations for courses taught within 3 years. 5. Course outlines for courses taught within 3 years.
