Role Description This full-time, on-site Red Seal Carpenter role is based in Canada and focuses on high-quality residential construction and renovations. The Red Seal Carpenter will interpret blueprints and plans, lay out and construct framing, install doors, windows, cabinetry, trim, and other finish carpentry elements. Day-to-day responsibilities include operating hand and power tools, measuring and cutting materials, ensuring structural integrity, and maintaining a clean, safe worksite. The role involves collaborating with site supervisors, trades, and clients to resolve issues, suggest improvements, and keep projects aligned with schedules, budgets, and quality standards. The Red Seal Carpenter is expected to uphold Keith Construction’s craftsmanship, safety practices, and customer-focused approach on every project.
Hours are 7 AM - 330 PM Monday to Friday
Hourly starting wage $38/hour (hourly wage adjustment discussion 3 months into employment)
Qualifications
Red Seal Carpenter certification (or equivalent journeyperson status) and proven experience in residential construction and renovations. Strong carpentry skills in framing, formwork, finishing, and installation of doors, windows, cabinetry, and trim. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications, with accurate measuring, layout, and material takeoff capabilities. Ability to safely operate and maintain hand tools and power tools, with a solid understanding of construction safety standards and regulations. Effective communication and teamwork skills, including the ability to collaborate with supervisors, trades, and clients, and provide practical suggestions and advice. Good planning, time management, and problem-solving skills to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and within budget. Physical ability to perform carpentry tasks, including lifting materials, working at heights, and standing for extended periods while maintaining attention to detail. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to various job sites; experience working in Canadian residential construction environments is an asset.
