Description:

In this position you will deliver care to patients at the Rockyview General Hospital, Peter Lougheed Centre, South Health Campus, Foothills Medical Centre and Alberta Children’s Hospital within a multidisciplinary team in the Department of Surgery, Orthopedic and General Surgery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Eligibility to work in Canada (e.g., Canadian citizens, permanent residents, and individuals with open work permits).
  • English Language Proficiency – Academic IELTS minimum 7.0 in each component, certified.
  • Medical Degree and Transcripts – graduate of a medical school outside Canada/USA listed in FAIMER‑IMD.
  • Post‑graduate Medical Education (PGME) – at least one full year of hands‑on training outside Canada/USA.
  • Specialty training must be hands‑on and supervised.

Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination Part I (MCCQE‑1) passed.
  • Registration for supervised practice with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) under the Limited Practice Registry.
  • Demonstrated currency of practice within the last three years (independent practice, regulated supervised practice, or continuous postgraduate training for ≥ 1 year).
  • Submission of Curriculum Vitae and Associate Physician Eligibility Pre‑ Screen Letter from AHS.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent (within 3 years) acute‑care surgical experience.
  • Prior experience as an Associate Physician in a Canadian healthcare setting (asset).
