About The Opportunity Pursuit Aerospace is seeking a Customer Account Manager (CAM) to join our sales Department. Based in our office in Orillia, Ontario, this role is pivotal in managing and growing key customer accounts. Reporting to the Customer Service Manager, the CAM will serve as the primary liaison between our organization and strategic customers, ensuring exceptional service, alignment, and execution across programs. You’ll be part of a collaborative team handling domestic and international accounts for complex aerospace components.
This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual who excels in relationship management, strategic planning, and business development. National and international travel is required.
Location: Orillia, Ontario
This is an Onsite position.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Single Point of Contact for assigned high-level customer accounts.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to defend and expand business.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities; collaborate with Proposal Team to meet customer expectations.
- Interface with Customer Support, Proposal Development, and Production Teams to respond to customer requests promptly and accurately.
- Manage all aspects of customer communication, governance, alignment, tracking, planning, pricing and contract management, raw material cost pass through, contract alignment and terms and conditions.
- Maintain up-to-date information in customer portals, including promise dates and activity tracking.
- Develops solutions to program challenges, provides early warning, and advises others for successful completion of quality objectives, on time schedules, production changes and developments and the achievement of site metrics.
- Create and deliver compelling customer presentations and business performance reviews.
- Integrate new product introductions into sales and operations planning.
- Provide ongoing market intelligence for assigned accounts.
- Establish and maintain customer relationships at multiple levels, ensuring performance aligns with initial proposals.
- Provide administrative backup for logistics and shipping coordination during team absences or peak periods.
- Assist with preparing and reviewing shipping documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and export paperwork.
- Support data entry and maintenance of shipping records in internal systems and customer portals.
- Communicate with freight carriers and logistics providers to coordinate shipments and confirm pickup schedules.
- Monitor shipment status and proactively address delays or documentation issues.
- Ensure compliance with export control regulations and customer-specific shipping requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams (production, customer support, and sales) to prioritize and coordinate outbound shipments.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Sales-related role, ideally in aerospace manufacturing.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated financial discipline in business decisions.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to enhance customer service and program performance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MRP systems (Syteline).
- Must be a self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Controlled Goods Clearance required.
- Ability to support logistics and shipping coordination in an administrative capacity.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling shipping documentation and data entry.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining key customer relationships.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, engineering, and quality systems in the aerospace industry.
- Experience managing high-value accounts and complex programs.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills.
- Experience with logistics documentation, carrier communication, or customer shipping portals is an asset
- Strong understanding of aerospace components, complex assemblies, and commercial/civil aerospace markets.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to sit and use hands for typing or handling items.
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to stand, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision requirements include close vision and color recognition.
Work Environment
- Office-based position with a generally quiet work environment.
- Occasional work may occur in manufacturing areas or customer plant environments.
- National and international travel is required.
