GeoSpectrum is growing and we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development and testing of our advanced winch, cable handling and acoustic systems!
As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll perform structural analysis, simulations, and testing to ensure compliance with performance, safety, and quality standards. You will collaborate with a variety of teams, manage technical risks, and maintain thorough documentation throughout the project lifecycle. You will be highly detail-oriented, innovative, and capable of delivering solutions on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

Participate in the design, development and testing of our winch and cable handling products and acoustic systems, including creating detailed plans and specifications to meet project requirements.

Participate in formal program and engineering design reviews.
-
Identify and analyze unique technical challenges and develop innovative solutions.
-
Complete structural analysis for static and dynamic load conditions using a combination of FEA tools and classical analysis.
-
Plan and conduct simulations and testing to ensure that the design meets performance, safety, and quality standards.
-
Manage tasks to meet project scope, timelines and budgets.
-
Identify, mitigate, and manage technical risks and report them to technical leads and management.
-
Work in multidisciplinary teams, collaborating with others to achieve project goals.
-
Maintain detailed documentation of designs, tests and modifications.
-
Compile, present, and maintain verification evidence for customer acceptance events.
Qualifications
-
Post-secondary degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent job experience.
-
10+ years' of professional experience and a Licensed Professional Engineer in good standing.
-
Experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD software.
-
Experience with static and dynamic structural FEA tools.
-
Proficient in creating, reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.

Knowledge of industry relevant safety regulations and standards.
-
Understanding of engineering principles and practices.
-
Hold a valid Canadian passport.
Security Requirements
