We are seeking a Musculoskeletal (MSK) Consultant to join our Disability Solutions team!

This role is a cornerstone of our MSK strategy, designed to reduce disability costs, improve outcomes for plan members and sponsors, and position Canada Life as a leader in MSK claims management. MSK Consulting provides specialized expertise to help Case Managers, Medical Coordinators, and Rehabilitation Consultants develop proactive, goal-oriented management plans for MSK claims.

Leveraging your background in physiotherapy, athletic therapy, kinesiology, or related fields, you will deliver tailored guidance on level of function, therapy progression, recovery strategies, and return-to-work planning. Through mentoring, education, and collaboration, you will ensure claims are managed effectively using evidence-based practices and innovative tools.

What You Will Do

  • Offer expert opinion on MSK disability claims
  • Review MSK disability claims and provide a written response to questions within a standard turnaround time
  • Promote best practices, effective use of tools & interventions, and resources for optimal case management
  • Support enhanced communication, outcome focused planning and critical analysis skills to effectively manage MSK claims
  • Remain current with developments in MSK condition and disability management strategies.
  • Partner with the Best Practice team and internal stakeholders to influence the development and continuous improvement of tools and practices for optimal MSK claims management.
  • Deliver group and individual mentoring/ education regarding MSK topics.
  • Demonstrate and promote Canada Life’s core values by fostering collaboration, adaptability, and a commitment to improving the well-being of Canadians through every interaction.

What You Will Bring

  • Post-secondary education in physiotherapy, athletic therapy, kinesiology, or a related MSK field
  • 2–5 years of experience in disability case management or MSK-related consulting.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex claims using evidence-based approaches.
  • Strong mentoring, coaching, and change management skills.
  • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and presentation skills.
  • Creative problem-solving and solution-focused mindset.
  • Comfortable using technology such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • As this position is posted in several locations, we specify that bilingualism is an asset (fluent in French and English) but is required for Quebec only as the position will regularly serve our clients with French and English-speaking needs.
  • Reliability Status Security Clearance – this can only be completed with candidates who receive an offer of employment. This is a personal security status that is required as a condition of employment before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website. The cost of submitting these checks will be covered by Canada Life.

The base salary for this position is between $53,900-$99,700 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
