We’re seeking motivated individuals with an eye for detail to join the Police – Financial Services organizational unit at the RCMP as a Junior File Clerk. You’re determined and enthusiastic, giving it your all because you know a job well-done has the greatest impact on your community. Being meticulous and observant comes second-nature to you, which is especially important as you’ll be required to file and prepare release of a variety of records, perform simple related filing and clerical tasks, deliver and pick up records to be processed. The Community Safety Department at the RCMP is a highly accountable and responsible division and candidates with these qualities will find great success here. Your responsibilities include: files a variety of standard cards, forms, folders and reports to alphabetic, numeric or subject files when material to be filed has clear file indicators or codes; locates requested folders for filed material, completes and inserts charge-out card; sorts, separates, groups and/or collates material being processed for filing or forwarding according to well-defined, elementary procedures; copies information from files as requested; obtains copies of correspondence and related items by elementary operation of automatic copying machine; stamps incoming mail; delivers and picks up files or material to be filed. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include up to high school graduation, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. As the work entails filing, locating, sorting, and copying both hardcopy and electronic material, you should be organized, methodical, and accurate. You must be able to perform work according to clearly defined methods and procedures, and can work well independently or under the supervision and instruction of a supervisor. You’re not afraid to show your personality when escorting people to the Detachment by making them feel welcome and comfortable, while also being able to project a professional and courteous demeanor. This is a terrific opportunity for those who want to take their skills and apply them at the Burnaby RCMP. The incumbent will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance.
Pay Rate: $24.28 per hour + 12% in lieu of benefits (2024 Rates).
