Purpose & Accountabilities The Routine Scheduler implements the scheduling function for Routine Maintenance. The purpose of the Scheduler role is to ensure timely execution of Maintenance work and minimize cost of execution through optimized resource utilization by scheduling both the Corrective and Preventive work. This is done by publishing an agreed upon frozen schedule, which is created by selecting work orders by priority, need date, and resource availability.
This role is based in our Shell Scotford Project in Edmonton, Monday to Friday, 8hr days schedule Key Responsibilities
- Build schedules prioritizing carry over, schedule breakers, PM, and CM work.
- Schedule Corrective and Preventative maintenance, resolving conflicts collaboratively.
- Maintain clear overview of backlog and priorities.
- Optimize use of resources without over-allocation unless overtime approved.
- Combine activities for efficient execution and optimize contractor usage.
- Collaborate with MM Scheduler and OMC to bundle/cluster work.
- Prepare draft schedules and maintain 3-week baseline.
- Produce 6-week lookahead histograms and manpower forecasts.
- Produce weekly Earned Value (EV) reports.
- Update daily trackers and indicate first-outs.
Key Challenges
- Ownership of the Maintenance Schedule.
- Drive accountability for schedule updates and compliance.
- Influence without formal authority.
- Strong collaboration with OMC and Day Assists.
- Support unplanned outages.
Key Qualifications And Skills
- Journeyman or Technician with 5+ years refinery or petrochemical scheduling experience.
- 3–5 years Primavera scheduling experience.
- 1–3 years planning experience.
- Proficient in Primavera and Impress.
- Skilled in GSAP and Blueprint.
Experience Requirements
- Knowledge of Perform Maintenance Execution.
- Understanding of end-to-end Maintenance Scheduling processes.
- PowerBI development experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to influence and drive work processes.
- Ability to manage evolving priorities and multiple commitments.
