It is acknowledged that Central Okanagan Public Schools operates within the unceded, Traditional Territory of the Okanagan syilx peoples. The School District enrolls over 25,200 students (including approximately 3,100 students who self-identify as having First Nations, Metis, and/or Inuit ancestry from Canada). Central Okanagan Public Schools is located in the Central Okanagan encompassing the communities of Peachland, West Kelowna, Kelowna, and Lake Country. There are 50 school sites with 32 Elementary Schools, 8 Middle schools, 5 Secondary Schools, 3 Learning Centres, an Alternate Education School, and an Online Learning School (6-12). **CANDIDATE PROFILE: ** The workload for this position is eight (8) hours per day, being forty (40) hours per week, twelve (12)months of the year, and may include shift work. Pay Grade 7 - Job #0739 - $33.79/hour.

**Position Summary **: Under the supervision of the Director of Operations or designate, prepare and paint surfaces and other related duties. This position may be required to start work at various project locations.
This is a temporary position which will continue until September 4, 2026 with possible extensions.

The successful candidate must possess:

- completed Grade 10; - B.C. or Interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Painter Ticket; - demonstrated training and work experience in current B.C. construction/maintenance safety requirements and WCB Regulation relating to the trade and industry; - valid B.C. Driver's License; - completion of all required Health & Safety training.

**Applicant must be: ** - able to work with minimum supervision; - able to work alone and within a team environment; - a self-starter; - able to climb ladders and work at heights.

**Applicants will be expected to: ** - possess the physical condition and health to carry out the required duties of this position; - maintain good interpersonal skills; - understand and work with Outlook email, Microsoft Office, and the work order system; - have good verbal and written communication skills.

**The following would be considered an asset: ** - two (2) years' experience at a Journeyman level; - Fall Protection Certificate/training; - Scaffold Erection Certificate/training; - Elevated Platform Certificate/training; - First Aid Level 2 Certificate.
