Position Overview
As we head into an exciting new phase of growth, we’re looking for a Tax Analyst to join our North American tax team. In this role, you’ll partner closely with the Senior Manager, Indirect Taxation to ensure compliance with U.S. Sales and Use Taxes and Canadian GST/HST/PST across our operations. You’ll play a critical role in delivering accurate tax filings, supporting audits, and helping modernize and strengthen our indirect tax processes.
This is a newly created position driven by company growth. The role is hybrid (typically 2 days in-office and 3 days remote) and based at our Montreal headquarters in Saint-Laurent.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review U.S. Sales and Use Tax and Canadian indirect tax returns (GST/HST/PST).
- Reconcile indirect tax general ledger accounts and prepare related journal entries.
- Analyze tax notices, liaise with tax authorities, and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Perform data analysis and tax research to support compliance with changing regulations.
- Assist with government audits and tax authority reviews.
- Support the implementation of new tax technologies and process enhancements.
- Stay current on U.S. and Canadian indirect tax legislation and regulatory developments.
Upcoming Project Opportunities (2025–2026)
Depending on business needs, this role may contribute to strategic initiatives such as:
- Enhancing ERP system integration with a tax determination engine for U.S. Sales and Use Tax
- Improving the exemption certificate management process
- Supporting additional continuous improvement initiatives within tax compliance
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field
- Minimum of five years of overall Accounting or Finance experience
- At least two years of hands-on experience with indirect or commodity taxes, preferably U.S. Sales and Use Tax
- Bilingual in English and French
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience is a strong asset
