Senior System Administrator - Cloud
About the role
We are looking for a Senior System Administrator who is responsible for the provisioning, installation, configuration and maintenance of the systems' hardware and software as well as the associated back-end infrastructure for servers and storage, including Microsoft Azure cloud core solutions
As a Senior System Administrator on the Projects and Solutions team, your responsibilities will include executing projects, providing post-project documentation, and handing over the solution to our operations team. Your work will contribute to our overall goal of providing a top-notch customer-centric service.
Your primary responsibility is the support and delivery of technical solutions to our customer base Responsibilities include architecting/designing technology details and integrating project work. This position requires collaboration, teamwork, and mentorship with other team members as we work together to identify, convey, and resolve customer issues. The ability to clearly and accurately record information about newly implemented customer environments to maintain our knowledge base is a fundamental requirement. Working from home is possible.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate the cost estimate for Azure projects, if applicable Responsibility 2.
- Gather requirements and provide solutions to the organization based on understanding the Microsoft Azure environment.
- Contribute to continuous system improvement, operations, maintenance, and monitoring (infrastructure).
- Conceptualize, design, and architect the Microsoft Azure platform.
- Support any enterprise Azure cloud project initiative by providing technical guidance and governance.
- Contribute to and interact with the Azure DevOps ecosystem.
- Maintain documentation on cloud system support and architecture
- Build and maintain tools and frameworks that support deployment automation, application health monitoring, and patching and update activities.
- Participate in technical research and development to promote innovation within the cloud environment of the backend infrastructure.
- Provide support and technical assistance to operational support staff, development teams, as well as all users of the system as needed.
- Participate in the resolution and documentation of incidents
Required skills
- University degree in computer science, information systems or other related fields. Or equivalent work experience
- 5 years of experience in cloud computing.
- Azure certification is an asset.
- Knowledge of deploying the Azure data analytics platform, such as deploying infrastructure for Azure Data Bricks, Azure Data Lakes, and Data Factories is an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of infrastructure technologies (servers, virtualization, network, end-user computing, etc.)
- Experience running and maintaining scripts (e.g. PowerShell)
- Knowledge of network technologies (VPNs, routers, switches, access points, etc.) is an asset.
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems is a plus.
- Bilingualism (French and English).

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $55,000 – $110,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
