Position Summary
The Scheduling Assistant is responsible for input on planning, creation and the ongoing maintenance of the College’s academic timetabling function. The Scheduling Assistant is also responsible for the handling of both internal as well as external College requests by clients to book any space at the College. In creating effective academic timetables for the College, the Scheduling Assistant must work with the Scheduling Officer to review a very large amount of data (i.e. raw block/courses for all programs, course/faculty constraints, room/facility data, and special program/course requirements). The Scheduling Assistant also works closely with other relevant College stakeholders (Academic Support Officers/faculty/Deans from the various schools, Registrar’s Office staff, and IT Staff) to plan as well as work within the timelines for development of the academic timetables. Doing this work requires extremely close attention to detail, strict deadlines, and ongoing communication with the academic schools. The Scheduling Assistant’s plays a critical role, as timely as well as accurate academic timetables are very important with overall College operations – including faculty work scheduling, student-centric schedules designed to assist with student success, as well as efficient booking of all College space for all College operations.
