About the role
Who are we?
Cheil Worldwide is the 11th-largest creative agency in the world. Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, Cheil was founded by Samsung in 1973 to grow its local and global business. We are driven by our passion to create mind-blowing ideas, technologies, and one-of-a-kind experiences by connecting advertising with digital; online and offline; data and events; and consumers and brands. Cheil North America has offices in Toronto, NYC and Dallas, and serves as the lead agency for all Samsung projects across the continent. Collectively, we are a unified force of creative problem-solvers who share a passion for developing ground-breaking ideas rooted in data, driven by insights, and enabled by innovative technology.
About the Role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented Post-Production & Design Intern to join our creative team. If you are a student or recent graduate looking to bridge the gap between video editing and graphic design, this role offers an incredible sandbox to learn how world-class campaigns are built from the ground up.
In this role, you won’t be left on an island. You will work side-by-side with senior media specialists and designers, learning how to take creative concepts and translate them into polished assets across social, digital, and global platforms. This is a learning-first environment designed to sharpen both your technical pipeline skills and your creative eye.
What You’ll Do
Video Editing Support
- Assist in assembling clean, engaging rough cuts and edits for social-first and digital campaign content.
- Learn to optimize content for multi-platform delivery, helping to format and export assets across various aspect ratios (e.g., 9:16, 1:1, 16:9).
- Shadow senior editors on finishing tasks, including basic audio balancing and color correction.
Design Preparation & Production
- Assist in prepping and organizing layered design files (from Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator) to ensure they are ready for video timelines and motion graphics.
- Update existing design templates, create basic layout variations, and produce simple text/graphic overlays (like lower-thirds and title cards).
- Learn to interpret and apply brand guidelines to ensure visual consistency across all digital touchpoints.
Studio Workflow & Localization
- Support the team in content versioning and localization workflows—learning how global campaigns are adapted for different markets and languages.
- Help replace and update on-screen text, UI elements, and localized graphic components under the guidance of a senior specialist.
- Learn agency-standard file management, version control, and project archiving to build highly disciplined workflow habits.
- Assist with foundational post-production tasks, including basic masking, tracking, or asset cleanup in After Effects.
What You Bring
Foundations & Tools
- Academic or hands-on exposure to Adobe Premiere Pro. You know your way around a timeline.
- Basic familiarity with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, with an interest in learning how layout, typography, and asset preparation apply to video work.
- A strong desire to learn foundational motion graphics or compositing in Adobe After Effects.
Attention to Detail
- A naturally meticulous approach to your work—you catch the typos, notice the misaligned text, and care about visual consistency.
- A respect for brand standards and an eagerness to learn what makes creative work look truly premium.
Mindset
- Curious and collaborative: You aren't afraid to ask questions, absorb constructive feedback, and treat every task as a learning opportunity.
- Organized and methodical: You understand that great creative operations rely on clean file structures and clear communication.
- Excited to experience the pace and energy of a professional creative production studio.
Nice to Have (But Not Required!)
- Any personal projects, student portfolio pieces, or passion projects that showcase a mix of video and graphic design.
- Basic understanding of video formats, codecs, and social media platform specs.
What You’ll Gain
True Mentorship: Direct, daily guidance from senior production and design leadership who want to see you grow.
Portfolio Building: Exposure to high-visibility campaign structures, giving you a clear view of how major brands operate.
The Hybrid Advantage: Practical, real-world experience balancing both video and design workflows—a highly competitive skillset in today's creative industry.
Our Commitment We believe that great craft starts with great fundamentals. As an intern, you aren't expected to know everything on Day 1. Our goal is to provide the structure, the tools, and the mentorship you need to elevate your skills, build your confidence, and understand what it takes to deliver world-class creative work.
