ASSOCIATE MANAGER, EVENTS AND EXPERIENTIAL MARKETING

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Events and Experiential Marketing, the Associate Manager, Events and Experiential Marketing is responsible for helping to bring the Team Canada brand to life through live experiences. The primary focus of this position is to lead the planning and execution of the Canadian Olympic Committee’s Event Management Services as outlined in the strategic and business plans in addition to the execution of specific events and owning core elements of larger experiential initiatives (e.g. Canada Olympic House and Team Canada FanFest). This individual will be responsible for contributing to strategy development and for ensuring each event and experience aligns with the overall COC brand strategy.
LOCATION
This position will be located in the COC office in Toronto, ON at 250 Yonge St. Suite 3000. The COC offers a hybrid work model that allows for up to two days of remote work each week.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES
- Work closely with the Senior Manager, Experiential Marketing to support an Events & Experiential Marketing Plan that is strategically aligned with brand and activities and deliver against the identified objectives.
- Support a cross-functional team in the planning and lead key components of the execution of Corporate, Games & Sport System and Brand & Marketing events including but not limited to:
- Corporate events (e.g., COC Board Meetings, COC Board Retreat, Marketing Partner events & initiatives, COC Staff Retreat & employee engagement events)
- Games & Sport System events (e.g., Olympic & Pan-Am Preparation Seminars, COC Session Meetings)
- Brand & Marketing events (e.g., Canada Olympic House, Team Canada FanFest)
- Specific responsibilities include:
- Maintain the COC Events Management Services framework, including the delivery of processes to create efficiencies and consistency across all COC events (including but not limited to run of show, critical path, templates, etc.)
- Develop event format direction in collaboration with key stakeholders
- Source and integration of event management tools & resources (i.e. translation, registration, etc.)
- Manage event budgets as it relates to Event Management Services provided to internal stakeholders
- Support promotional and content plans where appropriate
- Liaise with marketing partnerships team and key partners on Games-time activations as required
- Lead Asana project planning on COC Events
- General event support on registration and guest communications
- Liaise with agencies and vendors as appropriate
- Support the Senior Manager in the ideation and development of Marketing Partner integration into flagship Team Canada experiences and COC Events to meet incremental revenue targets Negotiate third-party supplier contracts and relationships including event venues, audio visual
General
- Adhere to timelines/deadlines as established for each project
- Manage the design, production, delivery and distribution of digital and print materials
- Manage the development of post-event evaluation and reporting
- Follow up with supplier & partners as required and arrange payment Work with and support colleagues on inter-departmental projects

QUALIFICATIONS AND CRITICAL SKILLS
Education and Experience

University Degree, College Diploma or equivalent experience in a related field (i.e. Marketing, Event Management, Communications, etc.)

4 to 6 years related experience in special event planning and execution Experience working with high profile senior executives, representatives from the sport and corporate communities, volunteer committees, day/night-of volunteers, suppliers and vendors
