Senior Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EI&C) Technician One Regular, unionized position Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada Salary range: $42.23 to $52.78 hourly / 40 hours per week Competition #E22461-2026

The Senior EI&C Technician is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the Grand Falls and Sisson Generating Stations, as well as the Trousers, Long, and Serpentine storage reservoirs. In this role, the Technician will work on weekly schedules, organizes and coordinates daily activities, ensures accurate data management, and supports a safe and efficient work environment. Working closely with the supervisor, they provide leadership in the planning and execution of both electrical and mechanical EI&C activities. The position is focused on delivering reliable, cost-effective power while upholding safety and operational standards.

Key functions include: Scheduling and planning electrical work in collaboration with the supervisor, including sourcing the necessary materials and supplies, and performing operational tasks such as permitting, isolations/de-isolations, operate unit and station service breakers as well as yard switching Installing, maintaining, inspecting and troubleshooting electrical, electronic, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and hydraulic systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation Reviewing, updating and creating drawings and schematics as needed, correcting discrepancies and ensuring accuracy in all technical documentation Direct work and ensure safety measures are followed as well as provide knowledge-based support to employees, and provide contractor oversight

Our ideal teammate will have one of the following: Electronics Engineering Technology Electrical Engineering Technology Instrumentation and Automation Technology Industrial Control Technology Instrumentation and Controls Technology Instrumentation and Controls Technology CQ Industrial Instrumentation Mechanic CQ Industrial Electrician CQ

In addition to: Five years of related experience in electrical, instrumentation or control systems within an industrial environment. Experience providing leadership, coordinating work, or acting in a lead electrician or technician capacity. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), such as SAP, would be considered an asset.

Preference will be given to those meeting the above qualifications and experience. Candidates possessing a Construction Electrician Certificate of Qualification obtained through an apprenticeship and two years of experience post-certification in an industrial setting may also be considered based on the competitive process.

An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
