Who We Are
Metrolinx’s GO Expansion program is delivering more GO service across the network, including the capacity to deliver two-way service every 15 minutes or better on core routes. Work is already underway on new track, station renovations and infrastructure upgrades on parts of the Lakeshore, Stouffville, Kitchener and Barrie lines. The investment will generate thousands of new jobs and economic opportunities across the region. The ONxpress Civil Joint Venture is comprised of Aecon Infrastructure Management Inc. and FCC Canada Ltd. This multidisciplinary team leads the delivery of civil and track works, leveraging global expertise to introduce innovative solutions across the GO Transit network.
What You Will Do
Assist with day-to-day site supervision to ensure construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project plans. Coordinate subcontractors, crews, equipment, and materials to support daily and weekly work plans. Support review of technical design documents, shop drawings, and construction details for utilities, drainage, retaining walls, noise walls, OCS foundations, and other civil elements. Help maintain site documentation including reports, diaries, photos, and progress tracking. Assist in identifying construction risks and contribute to mitigation planning. Work with schedulers to provide field input for work sequencing and schedule updates. Monitor adherence to project specifications, quality control procedures, and safety requirements. Support procurement activities by coordinating delivery schedules and verifying quantities. Help enforce change procedures and communicate field-level impacts to the Project Management team. Participate in site meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams. Assist with cost tracking, productivity monitoring, and forecasting. Ensure timely completion of inspections, testing, punch-lists, and close-out activities. Foster positive working relationships with crews, subcontractors, and stakeholders. Promote an inclusive, collaborative, and respectful work environment.
What You Will Bring
Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, or a related discipline. 5+ years of experience in civil construction, preferably on rail, infrastructure, or transportation projects. Experience working within rail corridors is an asset. Familiarity with Progressive Design-Build (PDB) delivery is an advantage. Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with MS Office; exposure to scheduling or estimating software is beneficial. Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with diverse groups. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. Expected compensation for this role is between $120,000-$130,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to multiple factors including skills, experience and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into consideration. In addition to base salary ONxpress also offers a comprehensive medical and dental program, RRSP with company matching and the potential to participate in our discretionary, performance based bonus program.
