SUMMARY
The Inclusive Futures Project is a one-year pilot funded by the Royal Bank of Canada that serves 20 newcomer women with international IT credentials across Toronto, Mississauga, and Brampton (Greater Toronto Region). The program specifically supports clients with labour market reintegration within the Information Technology industry through employability training, micro-certifications, personalized coaching, mentorship, employer engagement, and wraparound supports.
The Job Coach/Facilitator will report to the Manager, Career & Newcomer Services and will provide support with the successful implementation, execution, monitoring, evaluation, reporting requirements, and completion of the program. The Job Coach/Facilitator will actively and intentionally collaborate with various teams across Achēv, in addition to employers within the IT sector and community partners to streamline the client referral and follow-up processes.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish and execute an efficient participant recruitment strategy, with support of Manager.
- Design and deliver interactive, group-based job search workshops focused on the IT sector.
- Liaise with employers to ensure IT sector labour market needs are addressed through workshop delivery and micro-credentials. Utilize employer connections to find mentors, networking connections, and employment vacancies.
- Offer individualized coaching that includes assisting clients to create a step-by-step job search action plan and Career Portfolio, incorporating curated courses and micro-credentials to address skill gaps and enhance marketability.
- Maintain detailed and accurate case management records that track job search activities, job applications, interviews, and follow-ups in the CRM/database and funder reporting platforms.
- Submit timely and accurate statistical program data, including client success stories to support Achēv’s monthly narrative and cash flow variance reports, quarterly KPI reports, and funder reporting requirements.
- Work with the Manager to organize IT sector-specific networking and career events, fostering an extended professional network for graduates transitioning into the IT industry.
- Refine and adapt job search programming in conjunction with the Manager to align with evolving client needs, ensuring relevance and effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while representing the Inclusive Futures program at meetings and conferences, effectively conveying its initiatives, impact, and value to both internal and external audiences.
- Collaborate with the Manager to address client complaints and feedback, ensuring an empathetic and supportive approach that aligns with Achēv’s Client Charter.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a post-secondary University Degree or College Diploma in social services or related field
- 2 -3 years of demonstrated experience in assisting internationally educated professionals, in particular those facing employment barriers, including unemployment or under-employment.
- Proven experience in curriculum development, group workshop facilitation, and employability/life skills training that motivate job seekers toward employment.
- Extensive case management experience, with a keen ability to collect, track, and report data accurately, ensuring compliance with Achēv’s internal and funder-mandated reporting requirements.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities, ensuring effective engagement with clients and community partners.
- Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to network, collaborate, build relationships, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
- Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Canva, Zoom, and Teams.
- Able and willing to travel throughout Toronto and Peel Region.
- Able and willing to work evenings and weekends as dictated by program needs.
