About the role:
Reporting to the Divisional Controller, the Senior Finance Analyst plays a key role in driving financial insight, accuracy, and efficiency across SJC’s business units. This position is responsible for preparing and analyzing divisional financial results, developing forecasts and budgets, and supporting strategic decision-making through data-driven analysis. The Senior Finance Analyst will partner closely with business leaders, provide mentorship to junior analysts, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within Finance Shared Services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, forecasts, and variance analyses for multiple business divisions
- Prepare the annual operating budgets and quarterly forecasts under direction of the divisional controller and in collaboration with business and finance leaders
- Perform detailed financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business decisions, investments, and cost optimization
- Conduct in-depth variance and trend analyses to identify business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and management reports to enhance financial visibility
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and operational teams to ensure alignment between financial data and business activities
- Participate in the implementation and enhancement of financial systems, tools, and reporting processes
- Mentor and support junior accounting and financial analysts within the Shared Services team
- Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and recommendations to senior management as needed
What You Bring to the Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business; CPA or MBA designation preferred
- 4-6 years of progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, or FP&A within a corporate environment, with hands-on involvement in month-end and year-end closing cycle
- Strong technical and analytical skills, including solid understanding of GAAP, financial modeling, and variance analysis
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, Power Query, and financial modeling)
- Experience with NetSuite ERP or similar financial systems and Prophix; proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) required
- Strong business acumen and ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data to senior stakeholders
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of PowerPoint presentations and executive reports
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated collaboration and leadership skills, including mentoring junior analysts and partnering cross-functionally
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive with a continuous improvement mindset
