About the role
Herald School Kindergarten/ELP 0.5 Classroom Teacher Herald School is looking for a caring, dedicated, resilient teacher to fill a 0.5 FTE (with potential to increase FTE) Kindergarten/ELP position for the remainder of the 2025-2026 School Year. Position will include instruction for an inclusive Kindergarten/ELP classroom. This educator will also value a student-centered paradigm with supportive behaviour and self-regulation strategies, impactful instructional practices, an inclusive mindset, quality evidence of learning, and a team approach. The successful candidate must be aligned with the values and vision of Herald School and Medicine Hat Public School Division.
Successful Applicants Should Demonstrate Skills In The Following Areas
- Knowledge, understanding and ability to implement the Kindergarten curriculum.
- Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation, and assessment across a range of abilities.
- Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics.
- Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to plan for and provide co-instruction to students based on identified needs.
- Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances.
Herald School is an inclusive Kindergarten through Grade 6 school and hosts the MHPSD Specialized Program with a population of approximately 155 students. Herald School is dedicated to preparing students for happy and successful lives as ethical citizens and engaged thinkers.

About Peace Wapiti Public School Division
Peace Wapiti Public School Division (PWPSD) provides service to approximately 5,800 Kindergarten to Grade 12 students in 36 schools, including nine Hutterite colony schools, two outreach schools, an online school, and educational programming at a group home facility.
The system provides schooling for students from Horse Lake First Nation and Kelly Lake Indigenous Community. Excluding the colony schools, the smallest school has an enrollment of 34 students and the largest has 623 students. Alternative Education provides flexible programming to 95 students. In the smaller and more rural high schools, some reliance is placed on distance education programs to augment the basic in-school offerings. Specialty programs exist to meet local needs.
PWPSD employs the full-time equivalent of 375 teachers and 600 non-teaching staff, in addition to a number of part-time and casual personnel. The Transportation Department manages 100 bus routes.
