Title: Senior Financial Analyst Department: Finance Location: 6300 Steeles Ave West, Woodbridge Total Potential Compensation: $80,000 - $120,000 Position Summary: The successful candidate will play a key role in payroll accounting and the preparation and review of balance sheet account reconciliations, while supporting the preparation and review of monthly and quarterly financial statements and financial highlights. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting requirements, sound professional judgment, and the ability to work cross-functionally to resolve issues, improve processes, and maintain effective internal controls Duties and Responsibilities: Lead the preparation, review, and posting of payroll-related journal entries, ensuring entries are accurate, completed on time, and supported by appropriate documentation. Perform monthly payroll variance analysis, identify key drivers and trends, and work with Human Resources and other stakeholders to investigate, resolve, and communicate significant variances. Oversee monthly reconciliations of salary and benefit general ledger accounts to the payroll register, ensuring reconciling items are promptly investigated, appropriately resolved, and clearly documented. Manage the preparation and review of monthly balance sheet accounts reconciliations, ensuring they are completed on time and that reconciling items are investigated, documented, and cleared promptly. Prepare, manage, and monitor the quarterly audit request list for assigned areas, coordinate deliverables across the department, and follow up with stakeholders to ensure requests are completed accurately and within required timelines. Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, financial highlights, and shareholder reporting, including compiling supporting schedules, reviewing results for accuracy and completeness, analyzing key variances, and ensuring reporting packages are prepared in accordance with internal timelines and reporting standards. Support the preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements, management discussion and analysis, and audit committee reporting packages for presentation to the Board of Directors. Prepare annual non-consolidated financial statements, including supporting notes and disclosures, for individual entities within the consolidation structure, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with IFRS and internal reporting requirements. Identify, recommend, and support process improvements and related controls that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and overall effectiveness. Support special projects, ad hoc analysis, and other accounting or reporting responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree & CPA Designation (minimum 5 years working experience). Exceptional communication and collaboration skills in a team setting Sound judgement and decision making skills Commitment to personal growth and development. Must be pro-active and have a positive attitude. Strong organizational and time management skills and ability to meet multiple and tight deadlines In depth understanding of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
