About the role
The Instructor's primary role is to ensure the delivery of quality patient care and excellence in nursing. Exercising adult principles of learning, the Instructor will design, enhance and provide staff orientation, education, clinical consultation, development, and/or evaluation. The Instructor's nursing practice will reflect a current, broad knowledge base, and excellent nursing skills that enable her/him to function as a role model and support staff in accordance with Covenant Health's Mission, Vision, and Values. The Instructor will function independently in formal and informal learning environments. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the UNA Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Graduate of a Registered Nurse program or recognized equivalent required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) or other applicable degree required. Combination of education and experience will be considered. Active registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) is required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years acute care nursing experience within the last 7 years. Strong interpersonal communication, stress management and conflict management skills. Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to identify staff learning needs, provide guidance and support in professional practice when knowledge gaps arise, and foster a culture of continuous professional growth and development. Demonstrated ability to effectively teach, mentor, and train nursing staff in an engaging and supportive manner. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable using technology to facilitate virtual meetings and presentations. In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning patients. You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Stroke, Medicine, Surgery or Emergency experience. Adult Education certificate. Project Management. Dementia Care education. NVCI training.
