Position Overview
The In-House Web Developer will lead the development and maintenance of CanadaGold.ca and all associated regional store websites. They will support the launch and upkeep of new websites, and ensure real-time accuracy of our centralized pricing tables. This role requires technical expertise, creative problem-solving and an eye for clean, professional user experiences. They will help ensure that all our digital platforms reflect the trust, transparency and professionalism our brand is known for.
Key Responsibilities
Website Development and Maintenance
- Lead development and ongoing updates of CanadaGold.ca and all regional websites
- Maintain accurate, real-time pricing tables across all sites and ensure consistent data sync
- Ensure websites remain up to date, accurate, and aligned with current service offerings
- Optimize all sites speed, mobile responsiveness and accessibility
- Maintain visual and content consistency across websites, aligned with brand standards
- Competent use of WordPress and Divi Builder
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues promptly
Server and Hosting Coordination
- Support our dedicated hosting environment, ensuring uptime, speed, and security
- Conduct regular backups, updates, and performance checks
- Oversee plugin management, SSL certification, and server-side maintenance
- Manage DNS settings and domain structure for store sub-sites
Regional Website Expansion
- Support the launch and ongoing maintenance of regional store websites (for example, OttawaGold.ca, MississaugaGold.ca)
- Ensure all regional sites stay current, accurate, and reflect local store information
- Regularly update content, pricing, and metadata to keep each site optimized
- Maintain design and user experience consistency across the network while allowing for local customization
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure each location’s site reflects brand standards and real-time service information
Collaboration and Internal Communication
- Collaborate with content creators, marketing leads, and design team to implement updates
- Communicate technical requirements and timelines clearly to non-technical staff
- Act as the primary contact for technical issues across departments
- Coordinate internal requests for new features or web updates
UX, Optimization and Innovation
- Use analytics tools to assess performance and identify opportunities for improvement
- Implement UX enhancements and ensure sites remain intuitive and user-friendly
- Stay informed on web development best practices and propose relevant improvements
- Identify tools and integrations that support business growth and digital strategy
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5 years as a Web Developer, ideally managing multiple websites
- Experience launching new websites and migrating to new hosts
- Proven ability to carry a project from technical setup through to final delivery
- Track record of optimizing for performance, and usability
Technical Skills

Advanced proficiency in WordPress, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and PHP

Experience with dynamic pricing tools, SEO best practices, and caching systems

Familiarity with multilingual content management, ideally including French and Simplified Chinese

Strong skills in managing dedicated servers, backups, SSL, and security protocols

Strong skills in use of WordPress and Divi Builder

Comfortable using analytics and optimization tools such as Google PageSpeed, GTmetrix, Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager
