IAM Manager, Architecture & Engineering Location: Remote, Canada Duration: June 2026 – December 2026 Hours: 7.5 hours/day Employment Type: Contract Rate : $100-140 About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced IAM Manager, Architecture & Engineering to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise Identity and Access Management solutions. This role is ideal for a seasoned IAM professional with deep expertise in identity governance, access management, authentication technologies, and IAM architecture. The successful candidate will drive IAM strategy, oversee engineering initiatives, and lead teams responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and compliant identity services across complex enterprise environments. This position requires strong technical leadership, hands-on architecture experience, and a proven ability to align IAM capabilities with business and security objectives. Key Responsibilities Identity Governance & Administration Design and manage access certification programs, audit controls, and compliance processes supporting regulatory requirements such as SOX and OSFI. Develop and optimize Joiner, Mover, and Leaver (JML) lifecycle management processes through automated provisioning and deprovisioning workflows. Design and maintain Role Based Access Control (RBAC) models, entitlement governance frameworks, and role mining initiatives. Implement and monitor Segregation of Duties (SoD) policies and identity risk controls to mitigate access-related risks. Access Management Design and implement enterprise Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions utilizing SAML 2.0, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect. Develop and manage authentication frameworks including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), adaptive authentication, and federation services. Configure and integrate Identity Providers (IdPs) and Service Providers (SPs) across cloud and on-premises environments. Ensure secure token exchange, session management, and seamless authentication experiences. IAM Architecture & Engineering Design and implement end-to-end IAM solutions aligned with business and security requirements. Develop provisioning workflows, integration patterns, and scalable identity services. Engineer and integrate enterprise IAM platforms to deliver secure, resilient, and high-performing identity solutions. Establish IAM architecture standards, patterns, and best practices. Automation & Optimization Develop automation solutions using Python and PowerShell to improve operational efficiency. Create custom jobs, reports, and workflow enhancements within IAM platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across IAM tools and infrastructure. Continuously improve IAM processes, performance, and service reliability. Leadership & Delivery Lead and mentor IAM engineering teams while driving delivery of complex IAM initiatives. Collaborate with business leaders, security teams, and IT stakeholders to define access policies and governance standards. Conduct requirements gathering, solution design, and gap assessments. Provide strategic guidance on IAM roadmaps and enterprise security initiatives. Security & Compliance Perform access reviews, audits, and remediation activities. Identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions. Integrate IAM capabilities with enterprise security controls and API-based services. Support risk assessments and vulnerability management activities. Training & Enablement Develop and maintain IAM documentation, standards, and operational procedures. Deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions for technical teams and business stakeholders. Promote IAM best practices and security awareness across the organization. Required Qualifications Must Have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Information Technology, or a related field. Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in Identity and Access Management. Proven experience leading IAM architecture and engineering initiatives within enterprise environments. Previous experience managing or leading software development or IAM engineering teams. Hands-on experience with one or more of the following platforms: SailPoint Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory) IBM Verify Okta Strong expertise in: Identity Governance and Administration (IGA) Access Management SSO, MFA, Federation RBAC and Entitlement Management Segregation of Duties (SoD) Access Certification and Compliance Proficiency in Python and PowerShell scripting. Strong understanding of IAM frameworks, cybersecurity principles, and industry best practices. Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities. Preferred Qualifications CISSP certification. ITIL certification. Microsoft Azure certifications. Experience supporting regulated industries and compliance frameworks. Experience conducting risk assessments and vulnerability reviews. Knowledge of enterprise architecture and infrastructure security concepts.
