ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS (Knowledge, Skill, Experience)
-
Current Certificate of Competence as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario.

RPN Diploma preferred.
-
Current certification in BCLS
-
Minimum of 1 year current experience in hemodialysis required
-
Minimum of 2 years recent acute medical-surgical experience within the last 3 years required
-
Current working knowledge and experience with Fresenius 5008K hemodialysis equipment required
-
Demonstrated practice level consistent with the full scope of practice as outlined by the College of Nurses of Ontario, which includes but is not limited to:
-
Evidence of the successful, administration and management of blood & blood products
-
Evidence of the successful completion and/or practice in processing physician orders,
administration of oral, subcutaneous, IM, suppository, aerosol and IV medications,
venipuncture and IV initiation and management
-
Proficient use of patient assessment technology (vital signs monitor, oximeter, etc.) required
-
Geriatric experience preferred
-
Customer service/conflict training preferred
-Computer Skills - Intranet, Microsoft Office Products, Care Manager, Solcom, Risk Monitor Pro, Internet, etc.
-
Demonstrated adherence to the expectations of nursing practice at CKHA
-
Satisfactory Attendance
