Automation and Controls Engineer/Specialist High Level, Alberta
Our Automation and Controls Engineers/Specialists develop and implement solutions to optimize production processes , improve plant safety, product quality, and production throughput. They are responsible for controls standards, PLC/HMI programming, equipment commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting of control system issues and project support. We’re looking for an Automation & Controls to join our sawmill facility located in High Level, Alberta . Our High Level Lumber Division safely and sustainably produces forest products for customers around the world so they can build their homes and their communities.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- A qualified Trades Certification with relevant experience , an Engineering degree, or an Engineering Technical Diploma .
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment (forest products manufacturing preferred).
- Experience with PLC programming such as Allen Bradley, HMI or Rockwell (Rockwell Studio 5000 preferred).
- Experience with Human Machine Interfaces.
- Proficient with FactoryTalk software (View, Linx, AssetCentre, etc.).
- Experience with industrial machine automation.

- Champion improvement initiatives for current products and processes.
- Drive change through innovative process improvement .
- Put creativity into action and apply your knowledge in statistical process control by running experimental trials and evaluations .
- Leverage your analytical ability to identify and solve complex problems.
- Lean on your strong interpersonal and leadership skills to build relationships and embed product quality and innovation in the mindset of others.
- Be available for after-hours support on a rotational basis.

You’ll earn a competitive salary based on your skills and experience. The expected base salary range for this position is $82,500 to $107,000 per year.

You'll earn an additional northern allowance on top of your base pay.
