Role Overview The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading daily mechanical and/or electrical maintenance activities within a pulp mill environment. This role ensures equipment reliability, safe work execution, regulatory compliance, and effective coordination between maintenance, operations, and engineering teams in a high-hazard, continuous-process setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise unionized and/or non-union maintenance trades (millwrights, electricians, instrumentation technicians)
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
• Coordinate maintenance work with production to minimize downtime and optimize asset reliability
• Ensure compliance with WorkSafe / OH&S, environmental, and company safety standards
• Lead lock-out/tag-out (LOTO), confined space, hot work, and hazard assessments
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Support major outages, shutdowns, and turnaround maintenance
• Maintain CMMS records (work orders, PMs, parts usage, labour tracking)
• Manage contractors and vendors during maintenance projects
• Participate in root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support capital projects, equipment installations, and upgrades
• Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance team members

Required Qualifications

• Red Seal Journeyperson (Millwright, Electrician, or Industrial Mechanic) or equivalent technical background
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in pulp & paper, sawmill, mining, chemical, or heavy manufacturing
• 2+ years of supervisory or lead-hand experience in a maintenance environment
• Strong working knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, conveyors, boilers, and process systems
• Experience working in a unionized environment preferred
• Proficiency with CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, JD Edwards, etc.)
• Strong safety leadership and regulatory knowledge
